How the Overall Score is Calculated
At a high level, the Overall Score is calculated as follows:
- Responses to all scaled (strongly agree to strongly disagree strongly) survey items are compiled
- The Best Places to Work survey includes approximately 39 scaled survey items scored for the contest.
- An average is calculated on the 1–6 scale
- Responses are assigned the following numeric values: Strongly Disagree = 1, Disagree = 2, Somewhat Disagree = 3, Somewhat Agree = 4, Agree = 5, and Strongly Agree = 6.
- Those values are averaged across all scored responses.
- The average is converted to a 100-point scale
- The converted value is displayed as the Overall Score in the Overview Report.
