How to Use Performance Reviews

As a Performance Review participant, learn how to complete a Performance Review and review the results of a completed Performance Review.

Overview

As a Performance Review participant, learn how to complete a Performance Review and review the results of a completed Performance Review. 

As an admin, learn how to launch a Performance Review cycle.

Access Performance Reviews

Use the Reviews page to view open and previous Performance Review cycles.

To access your Performance Reviews:

  1. Click Reviews in the left-hand navigation menu to view all open and previous Performance Review cycles
  2. Click View for the corresponding open Performance Review cycle
  3. Click View corresponding to your profile to open and access a Performance Review

Share Responses for a Performance Review

To share your responses for a Performance Review:

  1. Click 1-on-1s in the left-hand navigation menu
  2. Click View or the cycle name for the corresponding Performance Review cycle to navigate to the Performance Review
  3. Complete the questions in the left column, titled [employee's] Responses
  4. Click Share to submit your responses
    • Alternatively, click Save Draft to save your progress and share your responses at a later time

Once shared, meet with the other participant to review the results of the Performance Review together. 

Edit Shared Responses

Once you have shared, you are not able to edit your responses without an admin. Contact your organization's admin to change the Performance Review's status and edit your responses.

Review a Performance Review

To review a Performance Review once both participants have shared their responses:

  1. Click Reviews in the left-hand navigation menu
  2. Click View for the corresponding Performance Review cycle
  3. Click View for your cycle to open your Performance Review
  4. Analyze and review the questions together:


    • A. Question & Score: Indicates the question's title and the scores provided by both participants
    • B. Question Analysis: Click the different options, i.e. Responses, Scales, etc. to view and analyze the responses
    • C. Meeting Notes: Click to view and/or add comments specific to each question
  5. Optionally, click + Add Action Item to add an action item that carries over for all 1-on-1s/ Performance Reviews between the same two participants, learn more
  6. Optionally, click + Add Attachment to add external files for reference, learn more

Unlike a 1-on-1, a Performance Review is not finalized to be complete. The Performance Review is complete when both participants share their responses and review the results together. 

Participants can return to the Performance Review at a later date to access the results, action items, meeting notes, etc.
