User File: What Demographics Should We Include?
Most customers provide us with a direct download of demographics from their HRIS. While this file is likely easy to obtain, it can provide more demographics than are necessary. Below are a couple of quick tips for what to consider when determining your list of demographics:
- These demographics are required to be included in your User Set Up Template:
- Employee First Name
- Employee Last Name
- Employee ID
- Title
- Manager Email -or- Manager Employee ID
- Hire Date (please format this value numerically, i.e. YYYY-MM-DD)
- Employee Active Status
- In addition to the above required demographics, we recommend you include other meaningful demographics, such as:
- Location
- Department
- Division
- Business Unit
- Job Function
Adding these additional demographics will increase the value that your analytics provide and gives your managers the option to easily add everyone in a certain demographic to a team goal.
