Change Templates for 1-on-1s

For user-initiated 1-on-1s that have not been started, either participant can change the template for the current 1-on-1.

Overview

For user-initiated 1-on-1s that have not been started, either participant can change the template for the current 1-on-1. Future 1-on-1 instances are not affected.

This can be especially helpful for organizations that conduct regular 1-on-1s, but once a month or quarter, use a different template.

Requirements

  • Available for all users
  • Available for user-initiated 1-on-1s

Change Template for a 1-on-1

To change the template for a 1-on-1: 

  1. Access the user-initiated 1-on-1
  2. Click Change Template to expand a menu of template options
    • Note: If either participant has responded to any of the questions, the Change Template option no longer appears to avoid overwriting a participant's draft
  3. Click and select the template the 1-on-1 should use
  4. Click Save to refresh the 1-on-1 with the new template for both participants

Change Template for a Future 1-on-1

1-on-1s launched earlier than their original date can launch with a template different from the originally selected template, learn more.

To change the template for a future 1-on-1: 

  1. From the 1-on-1 homepage, in the Recurring Check-Ins card, click the team member's corresponding ⋮ icon to expand a menu of options
  2. Click Launch Next in Series


  3. In the modal, click Change Template (Optional)
  4. Select the template for the future 1-on-1
    • The template change only affects the following 1-on-1, all other future 1-on-1s will use the originally selected template option
  5. Click Launch Now to launch the 1-on-1 with the selected template
