Overview

Customize your Assembly notification preferences to choose which notifications you receive and where you receive them.

Notifications are delivered through email and the mobile app when installed. Depending on your organization’s Assembly setup, you can also receive notifications through Slack and/or Microsoft Teams.

You can manage notification preferences for individual notification types, allowing you to specify the Assembly activity you want to hear about and the channels where you want to receive it.

Requirements

• Available to Assembly by Quantum Workplace users
• Mobile notifications will be sent when the app is installed
• To receive notifications through Slack or Microsoft Teams, your organization must have the corresponding integration enabled and connected to Assembly

Access Your Notification Settings

To access and customize your notification preferences:

1. Click your account menu in the top-right corner.
2. Click Account Settings
3. Click Notifications

Notification Delivery

For supported notification types, you can choose which channels you want to use to receive notifications.

Depending on your organization's available integrations, you can opt to receive custom notifications via the channels of your choosing.

You can customize notification delivery independently for each notification type. For example, you can choose to receive recognition notifications through Slack while receiving other notifications through email.

Recognition & Celebrations

Manage notifications related to recognition and celebrations.

You can opt to customize notifications about:

• Receiving recognition — Receive a notification whenever someone recognizes you.
• Birthday celebrations — Depending on your personal preference, you can opt out for birthdays.
• Recognition reminders — Receive a reminder when you haven't given recognition in a while.

Recognition reminder notifications sent through Slack or Microsoft Teams are delivered as direct messages.

Mentions

Manage notifications for when other people mention you in Assembly posts and replies.

Available settings include:

• When someone mentions me in a post
• When someone mentions me in a reply

Mentions in boosts are handled separately through Reply Activity settings.

If you are mentioned multiple times in the same post or reply, Assembly will group these together and send only one notification.

Reply Activity

Manage notifications related to replies and boosts.

Available settings include:

• When someone replies to my post — Receive a notification when someone replies to a post you created.
• When someone replies to a thread I'm a part of — Receive a notification when someone replies to a post after you've already participated in the thread.
• When someone gives me a boost — Receive a notification when someone gives you a boost in a reply.

Boost notifications are separate from mention notifications. If someone gives you a boost and also mentions you in the reply, Assembly sends the boost notification rather than a separate mention notification.

Manager Updates

If you are a manager, you can manage notifications about activity from your direct reports.

Available settings include:

• When my direct report receives recognition
• When my direct report receives an award
• When my direct report has an upcoming birthday or work anniversary
• Remind me to give recognition to my direct reports

Manager notifications sent through Slack or Microsoft Teams are delivered as direct messages. Only managers have access to view and customize the Manager Updates section.

Challenges

Manage notifications related to Assembly challenges.

Available settings include:

• When I'm added to a challenge and participation reminders
• When my challenge claim is approved or denied
• When I have challenge claims to approve

If challenges are disabled for your organization, the Challenges notification settings aren't displayed.

Account Activity

Manage notifications about your Assembly account activity.

Available settings include:

• When my giving allowance refreshes
• When my giving allowance is about to expire
• Weekly summary of the most engaging recognition posts in my organization

The weekly recognition summary is available by email only.

Your available account activity notifications depend on the notification settings configured by your Assembly administrator. If an administrator disables a notification for your organization, the corresponding setting won't appear in your notification preferences.

Turn All Notifications On or Off

Each notification section includes a Turn all on option.

• If all available notifications and delivery channels in a section are enabled, Turn all on is enabled.
• If at least one notification or delivery channel is disabled, Turn all on is disabled.
• Turning Turn all on on enables all available notifications and delivery channels within that section.

Mobile Notifications

You can manage mobile notification preferences from your mobile device.

Mobile notification settings are designed to provide the same notification controls available for other supported channels.
